Casa Birdie is a private oasis for any bird lover! Sleeping up to eleven with lots of room to entertain both indoors and out, this villa is great for larger parties looking to take advantage of one of the island’s best beaches in privacy. Just two minutes away, San Francisco beach welcomes the Caribbean Sea in style. One TripAdvisor rating boasted, “Beautiful beach. Nice bar area and gorgeous swimming pool (very clean). The staff were very friendly. Food and beverages were cheap and good. Excellent frozen margaritas and authentic chips/salsa.” All of this and the world’s best snorkeling, scuba diving, and deep-sea fishing is steps from Casa Birdie!
Casa Birdie is located south of downtown San Miguel, about a ten minute car ride from the main square or fifteen minutes south from Cozumel’s International Airport. You’ll be close to all of the island’s shopping, restaurants, nightlife, including Cozumel’s only Jack Nicklaus designed golf course and multi-theater movie complex.
The private driveway leading to Casa Birdie is tree lined and lush with tropical foliage. The house is stunning with columns, large windows, and terraces. There is even a third-floor outdoor patio including a palapa, Spanish for natural, thatched umbrella, for shade, a hammock, and many lounge chairs to soak in the Caribbean sun overlooking the tropical jungle and turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea.
Inside, Casa Birdie lives up to its namesake, whimsically decorated with many tropical birds! The home is styled in traditional Mexican elegance, with heavy wood furniture and clean, cool tiled floors. The kitchen is large with a breakfast bar to enjoy meals or you can opt to dine at the large dining table buttressed by beautiful windows. Enjoy the calming island breezes while drifting to sleep as each bedroom has access to the second-floor balcony. One bedroom has a trundle-day bed that rolls out to comfortably sleep two adults on twin-sized mattresses. A full-sized airbed and an extra mattress are also provided for any overflow guests who decide to spend the night! Upstairs, the two mini-suites consist of large bedrooms with private baths and private balconies. Downstairs, the bedroom also has a private bath.
Casa Birdie is great option if you’re looking for a private villa with lots of space just steps from the beach!

The perfect place to have a perfect rest! (sylvain l.)
We just arrive home and we want to thank you for your wonderful villa. The house was perfect and make our trip a relaxing oasis . Our family have a very good stay with all the features of your villa from the roof to the pool. The diving at 45 feet deep was the outstanding activity with my three sons. The villa is very nice and charming and Tony was realy on the job to make everything perfect for us. The villa is at the best spot on the island of Cozumel ....near everything!
Special thank to Tony for his efforts and kindness.

Fantastic vacation spot and experience! (Jeff O.)
Gail Fox has a beautiful home in Cozumel that she makes available and shares with others. The house and grounds are great. Mornings in the back yard are quite pleasant, and viewing the moon rooftop was phenomenal. Everything is well thought out and anything you might need is there and available, leaving nothing to want for- blender, ice cube trays, washer/dryer, phone, boogie boards etc. The rooftop patio and grass palapas are fantastic. I'm not sure if it is stated anywhere, but my party and I were pleasantly surprised to have wifi internet. Catamarans, snorkel tours and diving depart from a dock within a five minute beach walk. Paired with the daily cook service of Chef Fernando this was an excellent vacation. The communication throughout was excellent, with Gail Fox explaining and helping with any information and the resident house care manager was exceptionally nice and went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect. I will definitely stay here again in Cozumel and have recommended it to all my friends that love Caribbean getaways.

Everything We Wanted (Grady R.)
Being our fourth trip to Cozumel my wife and I knew a little bit about the island although a lot has changed in the last 25 years. For our most recent trip we were bringing our grown children and wanted to make sure we all had our own space. Casa Birdie was a great choice. With three bedrooms and three separate baths we all had the privacy we needed but still enjoyed relaxing together in the pool or watching the sunsets over the water from the rooftop terrace. The house had all the amenities we needed (towels, dishes, bottled water) and the air-conditioning worked fine although it took us awhile to learn how to adjust it.
We had spent a lot of time in San Miguel on previous trips and decided we wanted to be closer to the beaches. Most of the rentals we looked at were too small or over-priced. Casa Birdie was in our budget and just a short walk away from Carlos & Charlie’s, San Francisco, and Paradise beaches which had plenty of activities for all including para-sailing, jet skis and kayaks. The beaches are free to swim but of course costs for food, drink, and activities can add up.
Being outside of the town you’ll need to rent a car. There are several places in town to do that if you’re coming over by the ferry. On your way south you’ll want to stop at the Mega or Chedraui superstores to pick up groceries. Nearby attractions we visited included Punta Sur which is a 15 minute drive south and home to beautiful beaches, an ecological park, and two bars called Rastas and Bob Marley’s. To our disappointment we learned that the road to Punta Sur closes after dark so you’ll need to go during the day to swim, relax at the bars, and take in some great views.
Once again we loved our visit to Cozumel and Casa Birdie work perfectly for this trip. We recommend the house for its great access to the beaches, lovely rooftop views and reasonable price. Thanks Gail

Best trip to Cozumel yet (Bill)
Our family has been to Cozumel several times over the last 15 years. We always stayed at hotels. Not any more. Not is it more economical, it is more flexible, larger accomodations and private. You need a car because you are about 10 minutes from San Miguel, the main village were all the restaurants and stores are located. We rented VW convertibles online from Less Pay for $33/day including gas and insurance. Now let me say this--- these cars are real junkers but we were more amused by their condition than upset about it. Very cheap but you can always rent from Hertz, Avis etc. for a better car.
Our group was me(dad), my wife, two 20year old daughters and one of their girlfriends. I was just one of the girls all week and it was great. You can walk to the beach from the house. The pool at Birdie was nice and the rooftop palapa was my favorite. The house is exactly as pictured maybe nicer than the pics. The house is very clean and well equipted with every thing you need. Towels/linens, beach towels, bottled water, beach gear. internet connection, TV , local cell phone and a local property manager Tony Rome who can not do enough for you and is pretty much at your disposal for advice or any problems. Bathrooms (3) are tiled and beautiful. AC works great but you don't always need it as some days the breezes with the ceiling fans are all you need to be quite comfortable. Outdoors the various birds are plentiful and occaisionally you get an Iguana sighting.
Day one we picked up our junk car and went to Mega the large supermarket in San Miguel to pick up breakfast foods, snacks, beer and drinks. Daily we either went to the uncrowed beaches on the east side of the island and had lunch at the Bob Marley Bar or Coconuts bar or had lunch in San Miguel.
Driving around the island is a blast. Afternoons we spent at the pool or rooftop at the villa. Evenings we would take the short drive to San Miguel to have dinner. There are many restaurants in the village and on the square and most are good. Try Casa Dennis, Tony Romes (yes your caretaker). Do not be afraid to go away from the square and go to restaurants that are in several blocks into the neighborhoods (very safe). Definitely go to La Choza ,great authentic Mex/Yucatan plates. El Moro is terrific. Go to LosOtates for the best tacos, pozole and very cheap. Go to Sabores on 5th Ave for breakfast aaor lunch. A delightful family run restaurant in their home and rear outdoor courtyard.
Casa Birdie is your best Choice!!

We loved Casa Birdie! (tpfleg)
We took three teenagers to Casa Birdie, and all of us loved it! It was so nice to have a home to go to after daily adventures. The home itself is cute, spacious, comfortable, and with all needed amenities. We especially loved the rooftop patio!
It's a bit out of town, so a rental car is needed. Also, it's not terribly close to the beach, and we did have some trouble getting into some of the nearby beaches (they charge you to use their beaches). But, we would definitely stay there again, as it's a great home base!
We had trouble with the refrigerator, but it was promptly fixed. We felt very well taken care of! Thanks so much for sharing your home with us!
