Description

A GLORIAS VACATION VILLA

That's not a typo. That's your tropical home away from home in beautiful Cozumel. From the moment you arrive at Villa las Glorias, you'll know you've made the right vacation decision. From the charming entryway fountain that greets you to the massive indoor windows with stunning ocean views that await you, this Villa is glorious in every sense of the word.

Step down into the sunken living room and into a space filled with bright artwork and ornate furniture, with huge picture windows that overlook the multi-level freshwater pool.  You'll definitely want to take advantage of that pool after a day of snorkeling or sightseeing.

The dining room and kitchen areas are equally inviting and bright, with skylights and glass blocks that let the sunshine of the tropics illuminate your cooking and dining experience. The kitchen comes complete with top-of-the-line appliances of every size, and even has a breakfast nook where you can enjoy a cup of coffee.

One of the most exciting design features of Villa las Glorias is that each of the five bedrooms opens onto its own private balcony or deck, and all have incredible views of the beach, foliage, and pool.

The two-level villa has bedrooms on every floor and offers 4 1/2 bathrooms for your convenience. The first floor bedroom features a queen-size bed with patio doors that open to the pool area. There's also a bedroom with two double beds, which is ideal for kids or extra guests.

Wind your way up the stairs to the remaining three bedrooms, including an impressive master suite. This room boasts a king-size bed, walk-in closet, oceanfront balcony, and an attached ensuite. From here you'll even have access to a small flight of stairs that lead to the rooftop observation deck, with panoramic vistas of the palm tree-lined shoreline and vast Caribbean Sea.

And when you're ready for a little outdoor time, head out to your private pool with its ample lounge chairs and palapa-style cabana, or take advantage of the gorgeous white-sand beach and turquoise blue waters.

CLOSE TO DOWNTOWN COZUMEL. CLOSE TO PERFECT.

Villa las Glorias located in a hightly coveted spot for world-class snorkeling and SCUBA diving. But there's more to see above ground.

Just an easy car or scooter ride away (your villa offers private covered parking) is the heart of downtown Cozumel, where the cruise ships dock and the tourists flock to find treasures of every kind.

There are clothing boutiques and fine jewelry stores, of course. But there's also an abundance of local artisans who sell hand-made fabrics, hammocks, clothing, artwork and more. Duty-free shops and restaurants of every kind can be found along the pedestrian promenade and every side street.

The ferry terminal is also located right on the main waterfront street, so you can hop aboard for a day trip to nearby Cancun or Playa del Carmen. If you have a little extra time, take an air-conditioned bus or cab and explore some of the remarkable Mayan ruins of Talum, Chichen Itza, Coba and others. A central location. Gentle ocean breezes. Flawless beaches. Incredibly blue waters. This is the side of the Caribbean you need to see.

This place is so cool! I loved it so much! (Nina W.)
My family greatly enjoyed the Villa Las Glorias. The house is large and beautiful, and the surrounding property makes it a true paradise. The location was great for us as our dive boat picked us up every day right at the pier just a few yards away. We definitely plan on using the Villa Las Glorias next time we visit Cozumel.

A great villa (Nels W.)
A great villa on a beautiful beach for our 10 person reunion. Nice pool. Wonderful staff. Only complaint concerned maintenance issues (inoperative oven, WiFi chronically down, 9 dining room chairs for 10 guests, poor selection of glassware. Regardless, it is a great place to rent and the staff is first class. We scuba dived daily with Living Underwater who picked us up at a nearby dock. Two thumbs up.

We had a great week in Cozumel (TCF)
Well ……. We’re still here (the world didn’t end last night). We had a great week in Cozumel. The home was beautiful and suited all of our needs perfectly. We enjoyed our days exploring the island and relaxing on the beach. Many thanks to Alex and Liz (caretakers) and Axel! Don’t miss dinner @ Guido’s and Kinta. Both offer a delicious menu and beautiful courtyard to dine in.

We had a great week! (L&A)
It was our first time in Cozumel. We went deep-sea fishing, snorkeling, and we drove mopeds around the island, but next time we will SCUBA dive. The pool and beach are amazing and we will be coming back! P.S. We are great @ taking Tequila shots now!!

Great family vacation place (Corey V.)
My husband planned a vacation for my 50th Birthday and our 30th wedding anniversary with our family. This home was very accommodating. We were blown away by our chef Alex, a very gentle soul who served us amazing meals. His wife Liz, with a tender spirit, kept our house clean and tidy with fresh towels daily. The location was excellent. Everything was in working order although not all bedrooms had tv's.

Villa Las Glorias (Alain)
Rating Details: I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was very clean. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall very good but some notable caveats. On site manager Alex was great. House has some significant defects particularly not being able to flush toilet paper down the toilet because of antiquated plumbing. Also it would have been nice to know house was in front of coral reef with sharp rocks as not everyone brought beach shoes. Also house is a little tired, screen doors don't work well. Cleaning was not perfect at end as Alex's wife was ill and so house not as well cleaned at end. Also would have been nice to have some adirondack chairs on beach as they were all next door. Frankly appliances were very run down and no directions provided on how to light stove. All in all we had a great vacation notwithstanding these issues but given the price of the rental I was a little suprised to have to deal with those kind of issues at all in the first place. While I would recommend the property I would make fuller disclosure than what we received.

Villa Las Glorias (Maragret)
Rating Details: I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was more than happy with the location. The vacation rental was very clean. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful stay over Christmas week at Villa Las Glorias. The beachfront location is beautiful although you cannot swim right out in front due to the ironstone. Alex and his wife who live on the property are great. His meals were excellent, plentiful, and always on time. Local Yucatan cuisine. Liz cleaned and made the beds. The pool is small but nice. There are lots of all-inclusive beach clubs right down the beach if you want activities and noise. This villa is among a group of 4 and slightly back from the beach which was nice. We were able to meet the dive company right down the beach at a pier. Incredible diving and snorkeling off of Cozumel. Nothing to see right off the villa beach though. It is best to have a rental car to explore the island, go to other beaches and get into town for shopping or restaurants. The weather was perfect the entire week! We would like to return.

Disappointing stay during Christmas season 2015.... (dave p.)
As I consider myself an avid VRBO renter, I thought it would be important to write a review on this property having stayed at Las Glorias for a week, so that others know what they are getting with this house: - The pictures are somewhat accurate: Authentically Mexican decor throughout which was nice, but EVERYTHING is run down. Oven worked, but only if you manually lit the pilot light every time. Stove worked, but horribly outdated. Refrig was newer but all drawers were broken making them difficult to open. Base of gas grill completely rusted outside - yet operable. Master bathroom shower missing controls, other bathroom we had to take the shower head off completely to get water pressure, front fountain not working, many lights out, coffee maker worked, but broken plastic so it leaked if you wanted more than 8 cups. Exterior needs new painting, and there was a constant leak over the kitchen counter that the maintenance people just put a towel on the counter for the week and ignored our complaint that half of the counter wasn't usable. Also, as like another review, one TV screen in a bedroom was still completely broke. I'm sure there are many more finer details I'm not thinking of off the top of my head that were just amiss with this unit. Staff was nice, but it was written that we should be tipping them about $40/day which I found odd. The staff cleaned daily....I would have preferred they saved money spent on the cleaners to provide a better overall house. (all my other VRBO rentals did not include daily cleaning which is what I expected) We did enjoy being by the beach clubs - yes there are a constant stream of people, but we had 4 adults and 9 kids, so the activities, albeit at an added cost, were nice to have nearby. For those of you that are reading this, if you do book this unit, you should temper your expectation as this was just overall a really disappointing experience for my family.

Decent (Lucky)
Villas Las Glorias does offer very nice and helpful caretakers. From there, it goes downhill quickly. We stayed for 9 days with up to 12 family members during an Ironman event. The beach is nice but bring a knife to defend your territory as the cruise ships take people to the day beach next door. They will literally take the lawn chairs provided and use them as their own. It was a daily occurrence to run them off. The oven did not work. Only enough water pressure for one person to shower at a time. Two showers did not work at all. Only two stove burners worked, the dishwasher leaked all over the floor. Air conditioner air filters contained mold growth and were as dirty as I've seen. The tvs did not all work. One had a shattered screen. The fountain out front did not work and generally the house could use a coat of paint. It is very close to and in between two other houses. Each can see other's patio area and gives it more of a condo feel than a house.

Great Family Vacation (Mark)
Rating Details: I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location and outstanding cook (Alex). House needs TLC (outside paint, pool lights not working, speakers outside broke, bed linens need to be updated, light bulbs burned out) Would recommend the Whale Shark snorkel experience on Cancun. The dolphin experience was also enjoyable. Used Scuba Tony for diving and it was great. Alex, the cook, was amazing. If you get the house I highly recommend his food service.

“Great Family Vacation.” (seminole2a)
My family and I had a great vacation over New Years at this rental. It fit 7 adults and two small children very comfortably. The house was very clean and was furnished with all the necessities to make our stay a memorable stay. We cooked at the house and hung out the beach right in front of the house quite a bit, however, the proximity to Carlos and Charlies ensured that we were able to partake in food, excursions, and spa treatments whenever we were in the mood. The beach in front of the house is a bit rocky but honestly it wasnt too bad and if walked a few yards down it was clear sand all the way into the water. Having the rocks and coral allowed my daughter and I spend everyday hu ting for hermit crabs and conchs. It also makes snorkeling well worth it. The rooms were always kept clean by the caretaker staff andthe outdoor pool was always cleaned from any partying that had been done the night before by early morning. If your looking to be right in town this is not really the place for you, it is however a perfect place to take a family feel safe and enjoy your vacation.

“New Years at Villas Las Glorias” (Diana3361)
My husband and I rented this home to take our daughters, their husbands and our grand babies for 8 great days, over New Years 2014. It was fabulous! We loved the location, and the beach was great! The ONLY negative thing I can say about our stay, is that the kitchen utensils need to seriously be updated. Other than that, we would go back tomorrow!

“Love Las Glorias!” (chica65)
Great Villa in a good location. We took a very large group (rented the villa next door as well) and Las Glorias was where we all ate. Don't skip the chef service - really worth it! The meals were wonderful, flexible, catering to different tastes, and they made space for everyone. The caregiver takes great care of the casa and will help in any way. Pros: Great layout. Large common space. Nice size pool with plenty of chairs. Clean. Cons: The sheets need replacing. If you don't get the cook service the kitchen may be outdated. I was there after the hurricane when the beach was clear. Since then, when I returned to this villa, the palm trees have grown up. I miss the view of the beach without them, but think most people like the privacy.

“Great choice for large family!” (IllinoisMrsZ)
Our extended family of 12 enjoyed a week at the Villa. Agree with other reviewer that property seems tired--fountain in front not working, driveway full of potholes, towels faded and frayed, dishwasher didn't work correctly, odd array of kitchen items. But it was the perfect place for us all to enjoy each others company. The 5 bedroom, 4 1/2 baths was perfect for our group. My favorite part was the pool!! Love being near the ocean but not in it so the private pool was fantastic. The beach club next door was nice--just wish the restaurant would have been open in the evening. Nice to have activities nearby if we wanted to partake.

“Good, not great” (Ben S)
We were a group of 11 that stayed here in December 2013. Had a great time and want to share some feedback: Pros Great location, right on the beach. Away from town, so that has to work for you. Big house, plenty of common space. Like having a pool, we hung on the chairs around the pool a lot. Wifi worked ok. At times some of us couldn't get on but we had a lot of devices going. Annette, who helped with reservations, was great. Cons House seemed 'tired'. BBQ was on its last legs, dishwasher was old, kitchen supplies were cheap and limited, shower controls in the master were either broker or hard to work, toilet dripped, lights that don't work, exterior needs painting, etc. House works best with 10 people. They were nice and brought in an air mattress for our 11th. Dining room table seats 8. After a few days they let us use the washer/dryer, but typically just reserve them for the caretakers to use for linens. Side road to get to the house is full of potholes. Getting cabs to show up were a challenge a few times. Once you find a good cab driver just arrange for them to keep picking you up.

“NICE VACATIONS” (JUAN CARLOS L.)
I would like to expend another week in Quinta Las Glorias soon.

“Lovely House, Great location, Nice Beach” (John P.)
House was lovely. Can't beat the view, sandy beaches, nice pool. Steps away from a couple of beach clubs - so you can eat or get a few drinks. Prices were a little high, but so convenient. Rooms were a nice size and clean. Beds were comfortable but pillows were a little lumpy. Water pressure was good and water was warm. Only downside is the wifi isn't very strong so you must sit downstairs next to the router to get service. Otherwise, no complaints! Great home - Alex and Liz were fabulous. Recommend hiring the chef (Alex) - his food was amazing! Worth every penny. Was a bit $$ catching a cab into town ($15 each way) and Pizza can't be delivered (too far out) -- but for the views, it is totally worth it! Lots of activities at the beach clubs too you are interested- parasailing, jet skies, boating, fishing, diving, etc.

“Everything not quite as expected” (Timothy S.)
House and grounds are beautiful. The house had issues, such as non-working TV's (tough when it rains), non-functioning stove pilots (dangerous) and other small items. The biggest issue was not being able to directly get into the ocean (wear water shoes!!!) and the fact that the restaurants that were supposed to be open for dinner closed at 4:00! Alex, who takes care of the house, is very accommodating, but his English makes it difficult sometimes for him to fix things.......

“Perfect Location, Great Home . . . We would definitely return” (A FlipKey verified reviewer)
We researched many, many options before deciding on Villa Las Glorias. It was perfect for our family. Location: The location on San Francisco Beach was wonderful. About 15 minutes from the airport. The beach is right outside the villa. The beach entry is a bit rocky on entry, but there is plenty of great sand for play. Just to the south is a busy beach club, with parasailing, waverunners, etc. Your family will not be bored. Food: We elected to do the cook service. WOW! Lucy was amazing! We only did 3 days of service, but would probably do the whole week next time. Every meal was wonderful, even for some of our picky eaters. Everything was fresh, made from scratch . . . the sauces, tortillas. WOW. If you are debating on food service, just do it. Diving: This location is perfect for diving, as the majority of reefs are within 10 minutes of San Francisco Beach. The dive operators will (should) pick you up at the nearby pier--about a 5 minute walk. Staff: Alex, the caretaker, was great. As another reviewer mentioned, yes, he is around every day. That is his job! He made sure the pool area was clean, the house was impeccable. He and his family were very kind. I did not feel he was intrusive in any way. The Home: This 5 bedroom home is really neat. It has a truly Mexican flare, with beautiful artwork. If I had to find a "needs improvement" area, I would say the linens could use an update, and the pillows were not the best. Groceries: We made several grocery store trips for snacks, drinks, etc. Although the Mega is fairly easy to navigate, I would use a shopping service next time and pay the 20%. All is all, a wonderful trip! We were all very pleased with the Villa Las Glorias. Would I return to this property? Absolutely.
