One of the many things we enjoy about living in Cozumel is eating out! And while we go to our fair share of tourist-type spots and more expensive, non-Mexican restaurants, what we love most is finding small, out-of-the way spots, and enjoying the fantastic, often inexpensive local food that can be found in these places.

So what we’re going to try to do here, in our first such post, is to review some of our favorite places. This particular post will be about one of our favorite taco and tortas places on the island. Yum!

What we’ll also try to do with each post is post a few pics of the restaurant (sometimes these places are hard to find without a picture to guide you), as well as the menu and perhaps (if we really loved the food) of our favorite dish.

Preparations for Ironman Cozumel this Sunday are well underway! I feel like there are people walking around in wetsuits everywhere. There’s also lots of small construction projects happening – guys removing speed bumps, putting up temporary barriers, etc. In general, there are more people milling around than we’ve seen around Thanksgiving in a long time. It’s nice to see. Take a look at some of these pics we took last night of the finish area getting setup and this morning of swimmers practicing in some REALLY choppy seas. It’s super windy, cloudy on the island right now. The weather is supposed to clear up by Sunday. We truly hope it does, otherwise the triathletes will have a heck of a time swimming in strong current and running/biking against a strong headwind.
